Idaho Spencer Opal - Pendant

One hand worked, hand sandwiched and hand tripleted Spencer Idaho Fire Opal. The very last opal worked and sandwiched by hand under the teaching of Bob Stoubaugh, master opal lapidarian and seen often on "Exploring Idaho" PBS segments regarding collecting and working Idaho specimens.

This opal presents itself clearly with bounces of red, purple and blue flaming fire, across the entire sandwich. *Sandwich, meaning: a thin opal layer sandwiched by a clear quartz cabochon top and a ignumbrite or obsidian based flat bottom. Basically a "sandwich" of spectra color enhanced by other other natural gemstone bodies. Because the opal layer itself can often be paper thin it needs protection from other stones to not only enhance its beauty but protect it too.

“Opal amplifies your traits and characteristics. Helps you recognize and feel the creativity within the self, providing inspiration and imagination to all situations. It furthers clean, true, spontaneous action, enhancing what you are feeling and allowing for the release of inhibitions. Strengthens the memory and instills faithfulness and loyalty in love and personal relationships. It is a stone of happy dreams and changes. The happy dreams arising from the understanding of personal higher potentials and the glad acceptance of your inherent perfection. The happy changes come from those events which allow your aspirations to surface.” Reference guide: Melody – Love Is In The Earth

This opal measures2" long in a free-form style, wrapped in 20 gauge sterling silver and finished sweetly with 2mm tan leather cord, a vintage abalone shell button clasp and has a neck length of 15.5"....I can extend the length if needed for the etsy shopper.

The pendant will arrive in a hand made gift box, sent Priority Mail.
